Moleskine Art Plus Watercolor Album, 3.5" x 5.5"
Moleskine Art Plus Sketch Album 3.5" x 5.5"
I have a lot of these little sketch pads. I use both the sketch album and watercolor album. Yes, if you're going to use water-based media, get the watercolor pad. I have one with detachable pages, some without. It's convenient to be able to pull the perforated pages out to give away, but if you're keeping the sketchpad intact I think the perforations are visually distracting.

I like the pocket in the back where I occasionally stuff little things and I especially like the elastic strap that keeps the sketchpad closed in my purse or art bag. You'll find there are all kinds and sizes of these sketchpads. Shop around. (I found some at markdown prices at a Barnes & Noble in Albuquerque at one time.)

Bic pencils, a kneaded eraser, kleenex and a Q-Tip.
Honestly, the pencil drawings are made with a Bic #2 0.7mm pencil--that's all! I use my old kneaded eraser liberally and smear/blend with my fingers, sometimes covering the tip with a kleenex. I use Q-Tips to blend finer spots occasionally. I also have a 6" metal ruler that I use to make the 1/2" borders on the drawings.

I have a raft of pencils on hand. As I use them I'll try to remember to take a photo and show them here.

But I keep it pretty simple.
